Rental Terms
WHAT YOU AGREE TO WHEN YOU RENT
By renting with Ski at Sea, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before your rental date.
Operator Requirements
All operators must meet Florida state minimum age requirements for personal watercraft operation. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 must hold a valid Florida Boater Safety ID card or equivalent approved credential. Operators must present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of rental. Ski at Sea reserves the right to refuse rental to any individual who does not meet these requirements.
Safety Briefing
All renters are required to complete a safety briefing before operating any watercraft. This briefing covers safe operation, local regulations, no-wake zones, manatee protection areas, and emergency procedures. Rental begins after the briefing is complete. No exceptions.
Condition of Equipment
Renters are responsible for inspecting the watercraft at the time of pickup and reporting any pre-existing damage before departure. Renters are liable for any damage caused during the rental period beyond normal wear and tear. Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was received.
Prohibited Activities
Operation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and is a violation of Florida law. Reckless operation, wake jumping near other vessels, and operation in restricted or no-wake zones are prohibited. Ski at Sea reserves the right to terminate a rental without refund if these terms are violated.
Life Jackets
Life jackets are provided and must be worn by all operators and passengers at all times while on the water. Florida law requires all children under 6 years of age to wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times on a vessel under 26 feet.
Pricing & Confirmation
All prices listed on this website are proposed starting rates and are subject to confirmation at the time of booking. Final pricing, inclusions, fuel arrangements, deposits, taxes, and applicable fees are confirmed in writing before any payment is collected. No reservation is confirmed until Ski at Sea provides written confirmation.
Cancellation & Weather
CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULING & WEATHER
We understand that plans change and that Florida weather can be unpredictable. Here is how we handle both.
Customer Cancellations
Cancellation terms are confirmed at the time of booking and will be provided in writing before any deposit is collected. We ask that you notify us as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Last-minute cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee as outlined in your booking confirmation.
Weather Cancellations
Ski at Sea monitors conditions closely. If we determine that weather or water conditions are unsafe for a rental — including but not limited to lightning, high winds, severe thunderstorms, or rough water — we will contact you as early as possible to reschedule. Weather cancellations initiated by Ski at Sea will not result in a forfeiture of any deposit paid.
Rescheduling
We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate rescheduling requests. Rescheduling is subject to availability. If you need to reschedule, contact us as soon as possible. Rescheduling terms are confirmed at the time of booking.
No-Shows
Failure to appear at the agreed time and location without prior notice may result in forfeiture of any deposit paid. If you are running late, please contact us immediately.
Waiver & Liability
ASSUMPTION OF RISK & LIABILITY
Personal watercraft operation involves inherent risks. By renting with Ski at Sea, you acknowledge and accept the following.
Assumption of Risk
Renting and operating a personal watercraft involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, capsizing, and exposure to sun and water. By proceeding with a rental, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with personal watercraft operation.
Release of Liability
All renters are required to sign a liability waiver prior to operating any watercraft. This waiver releases Ski at Sea, its owners, employees, and agents from liability for injuries, accidents, or property damage arising from the rental, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Renter Responsibility
Renters are solely responsible for operating the watercraft safely and in compliance with all applicable Florida laws and regulations. Renters are liable for any fines, citations, or penalties incurred during the rental period as a result of their own actions.
Damage Liability
Renters are financially responsible for any damage to the watercraft caused during the rental period, including damage resulting from collision, grounding, or improper operation. Damage assessments will be conducted at the time of return.
